FARA Foundation Educational Scholarships

The scholarships are awarded through an open competition for high school and university students from disadvantaged backgrounds who demonstrate a need for support, a strong interest in learning, and a commitment to shaping their own future.

FARA Foundation views this process as a continuous learning experience—from completing the documentation in the Applicant Package to the end of the scholarship period.

1. Eligibilitate

Applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Be between 16 and 24 years old
- Have permanent residence in one of the following counties: Călărași, Constanța, Giurgiu, Ialomița, Ilfov, Vaslui, Suceava, Tulcea
- Be enrolled in an educational institution (high school, vocational school, arts and trades school, post-secondary school, or university)
- Maintain regular school attendance (no more than 10 unexcused absences per month)
- Demonstrate socially responsible behavior (school conduct grade or, for applicants over 18, a clean criminal record)
- Be in a challenging life situation, such as:
  - Low household income
  - Large family
  - Single-parent family
  - Orphaned
  - Parents unemployed or working abroad
  - Chronic illness
  - Disability
  - Addiction
  - Domestic violence
  - Other crisis situations
    (Details must be provided in the Motivation Letter included in the Applicant Package)
Additionally, the applicant must:
- Have read and agreed to the terms of the FARA Foundation Educational Scholarship Agreement
- Have read and signed the GDPR Information Notice for Data Subjects
- Have provided written consent for the processing of personal data for the specific purpose outlined in the form
Be the holder of a personal bank account

These templates are available in editable .docx and .pdf formats to help you complete your application with ease. Download and fill them out as required. You will need them in the next step:

In addition to the completed and/or signed documents above, you will also need to upload the following scanned documents in Step 3:

Criminal record certificate
One letter of recommendation (can be from a teacher, NGO representative, schoolmate, family doctor, or other professionals or community leaders such as a mayor, priest, police officer, etc.)
Copy of your ID card (to confirm age, residence, and background)
Certificate from your educational institution (middle school, high school, vocational school, arts and trades school, post-secondary school, or university) confirming:
- Student status, year of study, program, and duration
- Conduct grade (if applicable)
- Final average grade from the previous academic year
- Regular attendance
- No more than 10 unexcused absences per month
Copy of your grade book or academic transcript for the 2023–2024 school year
Copy of a bank statement showing that you are the holder of a personal bank account

Other supporting documents (diplomas, certificates, volunteer attestations, etc.) that demonstrate your involvement, interest in personal development, continuous learning, and participation in educational, extracurricular, cultural-artistic, social, environmental, sports, or technical-scientific activities or events

3. Upload Your Documents

Scan the required documents and name them clearly (e.g., LastName_FirstName_ID_Copy) before uploading them using the link below. You can upload one or multiple files at once. Please make sure to use the same full name as in Step 2—this will help us easily identify your documents.
